Halcro (Booth 767) is now offing an upgrade kit that will enable the SSP80 and SSP100 to process MPCM audio. Shipping SSP processors will be prepaid to a Halcro service center and the return freight will be billed to the dealer, as it will be up to the customer to determine what type of service is required. UPS call tags will be sent to dealers requesting upgrades. Units will be scheduled for the upgrade kit on a first come basis. To lessen the inconvenience to customers, we anticipate a two-day turnaround at the service centre.
Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players include high-resolution audio formats from Dolby and DTS. The new players have the capability to convert the high-resolution bitstream to uncompressed multi-channel PCM (MPCM). The Halcro SSP Multi-channel PCM Upgrade allows the SSP to process the high-resolution audio formats from Dolby and DTS. This enables existing and new Halcro customers to get the maximum benefit from their home theatre systems with these new high-resolution audio formats. Also included will be the latest software updates.
